Always shown a keen interest in electronics and technology system at an early age, I have always enjoyed trying to work out how things work. I always had a fond interest for radio communications systems, which I continued to develop during my enlistment in the Royal New Zealand Air Force. During this time my interest in telecommunications moved to Computer Information Systems, especially data over High Frequency Systems, tactical long range field deployments and military messaging systems.
During my enlistment in the RNZAF I was deployed to various locations such as East Timor, Fiji and even Antarctica, where I used specialist radio communication systems. I was later deployed as a network administrator in the middle east. I left the RNZAF after 7 enjoyable years and gained employment with the New Zealand Defence Force as a Systems Administrator, specialising in Active Directory and Exchange systems. During my civil employment I visited Singapore and Malaysia in support of the NZDF.
I moved to Australia to continue my career in information systems, working for a small IT integration company for one year, and now work as a IT administrator for a law firm in Sydney. My current role involve significant project work, SQL, Exchange, AD, virtualisation systems, storage, firewall and DMZ design. I also have developed a keen interest in various computer programming languages, but prefer to programme and and script in Visual Basic. I developed and programmed a help desk ticketing system for my current employer as well as other tools and utilities.
I also run my own small IT business offering IT services to small organisations. My business provides small migration projects and ongoing TI systems support.
I have a keen interest in Diving, recently completing my Advanced Open Water Diver course after learning to dive in Thailand in 2011. My other interests include Weather, Photography, travel and camping.
I live with my partner, Trevor in Sydney.
